IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently through tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT parts to ensure system components are managed effectively.
- Designs and develops solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Recommends approaches based on feasibility
- Develops expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
- Communicates system operations and changes effectively
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
- Manages capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Follows standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates clearly in a team or departmental setting
- Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides solutions using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis
- Plans and performs minor version upgrades
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient management
- Recommends component improvements
- Identifies system interdependencies
- Coordinates cross-team changes
- Participates in system or application planning
- Leads meetings with IT users
- Adapts to change and welcomes feedback
- Monitors security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years relevant experience, with a combination of education and experience
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions
- Strong communication skills in a team setting
- Quality documentation and organizational skills
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
