Job Description:
IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hours per week)

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure system components are managed effectively.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Evaluates feasibility and makes recommendations
- Continuously develops expertise in existing and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
- Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
- Ensures compliance with SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
- Monitors capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems to prevent constraints
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Follows standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates clearly in writing and verbally within large teams or departments
- Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis
- Plans and performs minor system upgrades
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient management of technology
- Makes recommendations for component improvements
- Identifies interdependencies in system and application components
- Coordinates cross-team changes outside projects
- Participates in planning for systems or application roadmaps
- Leads meetings with IT system users
- Adapts well to change and values constructive feedback
- Monitors appropriate security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or related field, or 2 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in successful technology solution implementation
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective documentation and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
