Job summary

SPT Labtech is seeking an IT Manager in the UK to build, run and maintain the systems the business relies on. You will lead a small team, own networks, servers, and the M365 environment, setting technical standards and guiding infrastructure growth from our Melbourn site.

Reporting to the IT Director, you will patch, secure and optimize systems, deliver strong service management, and mentor the team to raise operational capability and resilience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT manager with experience mentoring staff.
• Maintains networks, servers and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Able to set SLAs, escalation protocols and governance.
• Experience with asset management and security operations.

Responsibilities

• Set team standards, SLAs and escalation protocols.
• Report performance metrics to IT Director.
• Own helpdesk queue management and ticket workflows.
• Oversee asset management, user lifecycle and M365 administration.
• Oversee procurement of hardware and peripherals; maintain IT docs.
• Provide hands-on networking support: VPNs, switches, DNS/DHCP.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security Engineer on infra maintenance.
• Manage day-to-day security operations and MFA compliance.
• Maintain user access across systems with least privilege.
• Mentor a small IT team through regular 1:1s.
