Job summary

Free-Work UK in Central London is seeking an IT Infrastructure Support Analyst to join our client, a bank, for a 12‑month FTC. You will handle day‑to‑day IT infrastructure support and ensure reliability for branch staff.

The role requires at least 5 years hands‑on experience, strong Windows/Office 365 skills, AD/M365, and networking. You will work hybrid with 3 days in the office and salary circa £35K.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT Infrastructure support experience in banking/financial sector preferred
• Experience with Windows OS and Microsoft 365 admin duties
• Knowledge of AD/M365, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams administration
• Familiarity with networking basics (DNS/DHCP/TCP-IP/LAN-WAN) and security fundamentals
• Experience with OS imaging and deployment tools (WIM/USB, MDT, SCCM, Intune, AutoPilot)
• Exposure to Fortinet and other security/VPN solutions
• Experience in disaster recovery planning and backups
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st/2nd line IT support for hardware, software and network issues
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices
• Image laptops and manage deployments using MDT, SCCM, Intune or AutoPilot
• Assist with user account management in AD, M365, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams
• Handle basic networking tasks and monitor system performance
• Support cybersecurity measures and incident response
• Perform backups and assist with disaster recovery
• Apply software updates and antivirus management
• Maintain technical documentation and IT procedures
• Familiarity with Fortinet solutions and Cisco switches
• Collaborate with senior IT staff and business users

Job description

Our Client a bank based in Central London is looking to recruit a young super talented individual as an IT Infrastructure Support Analyst.

You will have at least to 5 years hands‑on experience within IT Infrastructure ideally from the Banking or Financial arena.

Must have in-depth knowledge of troubleshooting experience with Windows, Office365 and ideally Banking applications and conferencing applications.

You will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for the Branch and to provide IT support to staff.

To assist in the response to service outages and other IT related problems as well as maintenance and upkeep of for security of the systems in place.

Business Performance duties

• Familiarity with core banking systems or financial applications
• Provide first/Second level support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, Phones/Mobiles and other IT equipment.
• Laptop imaging experience needed (WIM USB, MDT, SCCM, Intune, AutoPilot) – Image creation, management and deployments.
• Assist in user account management in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, Onedrive, Teams, and banking systems
• Networking Fundamentals – DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and LAN/WAN.
• Understanding of cybersecurity measures.
• Perform routine system backups and assist with disaster recovery operations.
• Monitor system performance and report abnormalities to senior IT staff
• Assist with software updates, patches, and antivirus management.
• Exposure to following Fortinet solutions – fortigate, forticlient VPN, Symantec Endpoint Protection & Encryption, Bitlocker, SentinelOne, Cisco Switches, Tenable, Group policy, ManageEngine, Nagios, MFA
• Document IT procedures and maintain technical documentation relating to role.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Proficient in common operating systems (Linux – Redhat & Ubuntu, Windows OS –Win10 &11)
• Software proficiency – 0365, Sharepoint and Teams – Banking Applications

The Client is based in Central London.

This is a 12 month FTC position which is hybrid with at least 3 days a week in the office.
