Job summary

Scan Computers, Bolton, invites an experienced Head of Infrastructure & IT Operations to lead our Infrastructure and Service Desk teams across multiple sites and our datacentre. This leadership role combines people management with hands-on technical delivery to maintain stability, security, and scalable operations.

Reporting to the Director of IT, you will shape strategy, drive improvements, and manage budgets, incident response, and capacity planning while partnering with development, security,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong experience in multi-site, on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Infrastructure and Service Desk teams
• Define and manage SLAs, KPIs, and service metrics
• Lead major incident response and post-incident reviews
• Coordinate on-call rota and escalation processes
• Drive operational maturity through process improvement and standardisation
• Oversee change management to ensure safe and controlled delivery
• Establish and enforce documentation standards
• Improve Service Desk efficiency, capability, and service quality
