Job summary

Medivet is seeking an experienced IT Field Service Engineer to deliver advanced onsite hardware and software support across our practice network. You’ll join a fast-paced IT function, travel across the South East and Greater London, and work as a trusted escalation point to ensure reliable technology for veterinary care.

The role blends hands-on technical support with project delivery and stakeholder management, including occasional out‑of‑hours work to support critical activity.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows 11 environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services.
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware (Dell/HP/Lenovo).
• Knowledge of managed print solutions.
• Strong networking and cabling (Cat5/6/6a) infrastructure.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work remotely, independently, and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a can-do approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced onsite IT support for colleagues across our practice network and support functions.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues raised through the IT Service Desk.
• Manage incidents through to resolution, including liaising with third-party suppliers and support partners.
• Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken within our Freshworks service management platform.
• Deliver IT support in line with business requirements and operational trading hours.
• Support multiple IT projects simultaneously, taking the lead on smaller projects where required.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure services are delivered to a high standard.
• Identify opportunities to improve colleague experience, operational efficiency, and IT service delivery.
• Provide proactive maintenance and support across a large and diverse IT estate.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding incidents, service improvements, project updates, and system changes.
• Support equipment installations, relocations, decommissions, and practice technology deployments.
