Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd is hiring an IT Field Engineer to support a leading technology client on a permanent basis. The role covers Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London, with the main office in East Grinstead. Some home-working flexibility is possible when feasible.

The successful candidate will provide friendly IT support, resolve issues, and escalate complex problems when required. You will work in a small team delivering high-quality service and helping to improve support operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical helpdesk or service desk.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common desktop applications.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support face to face, by phone, email and ticketing systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and Windows-related issues.
• Set up and configure PCs, laptops and user accounts.
• Support Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
• Troubleshoot network, connectivity, printing and peripheral issues.
• Manage and update support tickets with clear documentation.
• Escalate more complex technical issues appropriately.
• Assist new starters and leavers with IT access and equipment.
• Work as part of the IT team to maintain a high standard of service.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve the support service.

We are hiring for an IT Field Engineer to work at a leading technology client on a permanent basis. As a Field Engineer, youll be working for a Managed Service Provider company and support their business clients across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. Driver licence and access to own vehicle is needed. The main office is in East Grinstead however youll be required to visit client sites in and around Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. Some working from home flexibility is also available when possible.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and friendly IT support to users, resolving issues wherever possible and escalating more complex problems when required.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing 1st and 2nd Line IT support face to face, via telephone, email and ticketing systems
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and Windows-related issues
• Setting up and configuring PCs, laptops and user accounts
• Supporting Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
• Troubleshooting network, connectivity, printing and peripheral issues.
• Managing and updating support tickets, ensuring issues are documented clearly
• Escalating more complex technical issues appropriately.
• Supporting new starters and leavers with IT access and equipment.
• Working as part of the wider IT team to maintain a high standard of service.
• Helping to identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve the support service.

Experience required:

• We're looking for someone who is technically capable, approachable and keen to help, and is confident troubleshooting common IT problems and have the ability to learn quickly.
• Previous experience working on a technical helpdesk or service desk.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and user issues.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common desktop applications.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
• The ability to prioritise and manage multiple support requests.
• A willingness to learn and develop your technical skills.
