Job summary

National Highways is seeking an IT Audit Manager to lead the IT audit function within the Corporate Risk and Assurance division. You will plan and deliver risk-based IT audits, develop audit strategies, and advise senior stakeholders across UK offices. Some travel to regional offices will be required.

The role requires CISA or equivalent, extensive IT audit and OT experience, and a proven track record in leading teams and producing clear audit reports for Exec and Board-level audiences.

Qualifications

• CISA or equivalent professional qualification required.
• Significant experience leading and developing IT audit teams and setting objectives to drive performance.
• Experience developing audit strategies and annual audit plans for complex, risk-based engagements.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills for Board-level stakeholders.
• Knowledge of COBIT, ITIL and NIST CSF frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver IT audits across the organisation ensuring timely, high-quality outputs.
• Lead, supervise and develop an effective audit team on assignments.
• Review audit documentation from terms of reference to audit report; ensure quality standards.
• Present audit findings at senior meetings and advise the business.
• Build relationships with senior clients and stakeholders based on trust.
