Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking an Asset & Configuration Management leader to own IT Asset Management, CMDB governance and software licensing across the organisation. You will collaborate with Technology & Transformation, Procurement and Legal to optimise costs while ensuring ITIL-aligned processes and ServiceNow governance in a complex retail tech environment.

• IT Asset Management experience across complex environments.
• Deep experience with software licensing models from major vendors.
• Knowledge of hardware asset lifecycles and CMDB ownership.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior leadership influence.

• Excellent planning, accountability and delivery focus.
• Clear communication tailored to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Policy, governance and adherence for Asset Management across services.
• Own Configuration & CMDB standards and ensure accuracy for ITIL processes.
• Ensure SAM compliance, optimise licensing spend and assist in negotiations.
• Manage hardware assets through lifecycle and partner with SIAM.
• Ensure tools for asset discovery and licensing management are in place.
• Own operation and development of ServiceNow platform (ITSM/CMDB).
• Directly manage up to 4 reports and engage senior stakeholders.
• Oversee budget, vendor relationships and contract management.
• Evaluate risks from asset decisions and continuously improve processes.
