Position:

We are looking for an IT Apprentice to work within our busy IT Team. The main responsibilities will include:

1. Attending a suitable IT course 20% of each week to develop IT knowledge in areas such as Windows Servers, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and software support. Higher Level IT education may follow after the initial apprenticeship.
2. Gaining practical experience in IT support, administration, troubleshooting, sourcing and purchasing IT solutions, and managing IT projects.

Additional responsibilities include providing level 1 support, creating and updating IT documentation, adhering to IT policies, deputising for IT staff, and working out of hours for critical support. Ensuring IT security, legality, and best practices are followed is also essential.

Requirements:

• Preferably educated to A level or equivalent in an IT-related subject.
• Basic knowledge or training in Windows Servers, PC/Laptop OS, hardware support, DHCP, DNS, LAN infrastructure, and Microsoft Office 365 is advantageous.
• Additional knowledge in MS-Exchange, VMware, Cisco Wi-Fi, VOIP, CCTV, firewalls, and mobile devices is beneficial but not essential.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Basic understanding of ERP systems and EDI concepts is advantageous but not mandatory.
