As an ITC Technician Apprentice, your key duties will include:
- ICT Maintenance & Repairs: Assist in maintaining and repairing ICT equipment and systems across the school.
- Workstation Configuration: Help staff set up and configure workstations to ensure smooth performance.
- User Support: Provide first-line support to staff and students on basic IT-related issues and resolve common technical problems.
- Student Supervision: Supervise students in ICT rooms during break and lunch times, encouraging responsible use of equipment.
- Pupil Welfare: Support basic first aid and student welfare tasks, following school procedures and liaising with parents and staff when necessary.
- Data Backup & Security: Ensure systems are regularly backed up, data is archived as needed, and all sensitive information is stored securely in line with data protection policies.
- Training Resources: Prepare resources and materials for staff ICT training sessions.
General Expectations
- Work in accordance with the school’s Financial Regulations, ICT policies, and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Promote and uphold the school’s Equality & Diversity policies.
- Take ownership of your own learning and development, supported by the school’s performance management framework.
- Build strong internal and external relationships with staff, pupils, parents, and technology suppliers.

On completion of this 18 month apprenticeship you will have gained your ICT Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Prospects
No role is guaranteed upon completion of the apprenticeship but candidate will be supported to apply for roles within school, wider council and other schools.
