M & D MacLeod Funeral Directors in Portree, Isle of Skye, is seeking a Funeral Operations Supervisor (FSO Level 2). The role involves overseeing funeral operations, diary coordination, team mentoring and on-call duties to support families with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
• Experience in a Supervisory or Team Lead role.
• Willing to train as Funeral Plan Consultant and in a sales environment.
• Demonstrates empathy, professionalism and composure under pressure.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work outside standard hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate diary management and support Care Centre Managers/Service Delivery Leads.
• Oversee training and mentoring of Funeral Service Operatives.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, including nights and weekends.
• Assist with bringing the deceased into care from the place of death.
• Maintain funeral vehicles and equipment to high standards.
• Act as a point of contact between the branch and back of house.
• Prepare the deceased in line with family, religious or cultural wishes.
• Support chapel visits and family interactions with calm professionalism.
• Carry out duties involving the deceased with utmost care and professionalism.
