John Pagan & Son Funeral Directors in Dumfries seeks a Funeral Service Operative (Level One) to provide dignified care for the deceased and support ceremonial services. You will drive specialist vehicles and participate in on-call rosters, including nights and weekends, ensuring compassionate support for families.

No prior funeral experience is required as full training and uniform are provided. This permanent, full-time role offers progression within a nationwide end‑of‑life group.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Empathetic, professional and composed under pressure.
• Physically capable with good presentation.

Responsabilités

• Provide dignified, professional care for the deceased.
• Support Funeral Directors with ceremonial work.
• Drive and maintain specialist vehicles (hearses, limousines, private ambulances).
• Join the on-call rota (nights/weekends).
• Prepare the deceased to family or cultural wishes.
• Care for vehicles and facilities to high standards.
