Job summary

NHS Lothian invites applications for an Infection Prevention and Control Surveillance Practitioner. The role is based at the Royal Infirmary Campus with potential site-based support across NHS Lothian acute sites.

You will systematically collect, analyse and report data for mandatory IPC surveillance, monitor infections and support outbreak investigations while developing specialist expertise through training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Collect, collate, submit, analyse and report data for local and national IPC surveillance programmes.
• Report on incidence and prevalence of healthcare-associated infections and maintain control charts.
• Assist IPC Team with incident and outbreak investigation and management including inpatient tracing.
• Willing to undertake specialist training (e.g., Epidemiology and Surveillance) as part of the role.
• Work as part of a busy team; strong interpersonal skills and computer literacy; commit to continuing professional development.
• UK work eligibility is required; PVG scheme membership may be needed before starting.
