Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a data administrator to support the Infection Prevention and Control Team. You will input surveillance data, maintain electronic records, and ensure data integrity across IPC systems in line with agreed timescales.

The role follows an 08:30–16:30 pattern, Monday to Thursday (Friday finish 16:00). This is a fixed-term post for 6 months; secondment options may apply for internal staff with manager approval.

Qualifications

• Numerical and technical qualifications in a statistical environment.
• Experience working in an information/statistics environment.
• Knowledge of NHS data definitions, information standards and policies.
• Good communication skills to ensure data quality, procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Update and interrogate departmental patient data capture systems (IP/OP activity, waiting returns, etc).
• Liaise with data providers and resolve queries and quality issues.
• Provide data quality monitoring and operational reports to end users.
• Apply NHS Lanarkshire processes to resolve validation errors (e.g., waiting times data).
