Job summary

NHS Lothian in Edinburgh invites applications for a full-time Infection Prevention and Control Surveillance Practitioner. The role covers systematic collection, analysis and reporting of IPC data across NHS Lothian sites, including the Royal Infirmary Campus and other acute sites.

You will report on healthcare-associated infections, maintain control charts, assist with outbreak investigations and may undertake specialist training in Epidemiology and Surveillance; PVG membership is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, collate and report IPC surveillance data locally and nationally.

• Assist with incident and outbreak investigation and hospital contact tracing.
• Willing to undergo specialist training and gain epidemiology knowledge.
• Work effectively as part of the Infection Prevention & Control team.
