A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralized Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data and holding a highly visible role, the successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving the optimization of data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to delivery of data points to front office and investment teams.
You will utilize your technical skills in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, and Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex dataset analysis. You will serve as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and act as the point of contact for traders.
Additionally, you will undertake ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, including testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst within a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced programming languages for analyzing large datasets are required, ideally within a financial services data team.
The role offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a bonus that can be substantial for top performers. Initially, the role involves a 5-day office workweek, with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days per week once settled into the role.
