Adecco is recruiting for a Police Staff Investigating Officer in Edgbaston, West Midlands. This temporary, hybrid role offers an 80/20 home/office split and involves investigating sensitive cases including violence and online offences.

You will collect evidence, interview witnesses and victims, and contribute to MAPPA discussions while maintaining case files and reports. A PIP2 Investigator qualification and strong communication with vulnerable individuals are essential.

• Participate in multi‑agency decision‑making and risk assessments to enhance the safety and support for victims.
• Share information about additional services and explain criminal justice procedures to families and victims, ensuring they have access to all available support.
• Analyse evidence from child abuse investigations to identify offenders and prevent future crimes.
• Manage case files and prepare reports, maintaining an accurate audit trail of investigations.
• Initiate discussions for multi‑agency arrangements when criminal proceedings are not ongoing to assess ongoing risks.
• Contribute to multi‑agency public protection arrangements (MAPPA) and provide updates on offenders.

Our client West Midlands Police are looking for proactive and dedicated Police Staff Investigating Officers to join their busy Investigation Teams across various locations within the West Midlands area. With a focus on protecting the most vulnerable in society, you will play a critical role in investigating sensitive cases that include physical and sexual violence, as well as online offences.
