Job summary

Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is supporting a large, established organisation in Plymouth, Devon, to recruit an Inventory Finance Analyst on a full-time, permanent basis. You will join the finance team and apply data-driven insights to improve inventory performance and maximise profitability.

You will work with purchasing, merchandising, supply chain and senior stakeholders, turning complex stock data into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant status or equivalent experience required.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency required.
• Experience with ERP and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Analyse inventory levels, stock age, trends and KPIs to provide insight.
• Investigate discrepancies and assess financial impact.
• Develop forecasting to anticipate stock issues.

Our client, a large and successful organisation, is seeking an experienced Inventory Finance Analyst

to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a key analytical role at the heart of the finance and supply chain teams. You'll use data and commercial insight to understand inventory performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help drive better purchasing decisions and maximise profitability.

You'll work closely with purchasing, merchandising, supply chain and senior stakeholders, turning complex inventory data into clear, actionable recommendations.

The responsibilities:

• Analyse inventory levels, stock age, trends and KPIs, providing insight and recommendations.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes and financial impact.
• Develop forecasting and trend analysis to anticipate potential stock issues.
• Support accurate inventory valuations and strong financial controls.
• Coordinate physical stock takes across stores and distribution centres.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory data and reporting.
• Communicate financial and analytical insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and controls.

About You:

• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
