Job summary

Eaton in Cwmbran, UK, seeks a French-speaking Field Application Engineer for intruder alarm systems to provide expert pre-/post-sales support, system design guidance, and on-site troubleshooting. You will bridge customers, sales teams, installers, and engineering to ensure compliant, reliable security deployments.

The role requires deep knowledge of life safety systems, BS EN 50131 standards, and IP networking, with English and French communication skills.

Qualifications

• Level 4+ or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within the fire industry—commissioning, project management or technical sales.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for intruder alarm systems.
• Assist customers, consultants, and installers with system design and product selection.
• Support the configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control panels, detectors, communication modules, and monitoring solutions.
• Deliver technical training and product demonstrations in English and French.
• Support the integration of security systems with IP networks, access control, video surveillance, and monitoring platforms.
