Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Field Application Engineer for Fire Alarm Systems in Wales. You will provide technical expertise across design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of life safety systems, acting as the bridge between customers, installers, and product teams.

You will conduct site surveys, support pre- and post-sales activities, deliver training, ensure BS 5839 and EN54 compliance, and help specify products.

Qualifications

• Level 4+ or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in the fire industry (commissioning, project management or technical sales).
• Knowledge of BS 5839 and EN54 is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for fire alarm products and life safety systems.
• Assist in system design, specification and product selection.
• Conduct site surveys and assess requirements for new installations and upgrades.
• Support commissioning, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.
• Deliver technical training to customers, partners and internal teams.
• Ensure installations comply with BS 5839 and EN54 standards.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues remotely and on-site.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to feedback requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design recommendations.
