Job summary

British Army is seeking an Interviewer/Assessor to guide candidates through the recruitment assessment with unbiased, friendly supervision. You will implement both physical and psychometric assessments under strict test conditions and mark according to a detailed guide.

The role involves a 37.5-hour week over a 7-day pattern, including overnight chaperone and on-call duties once per week. Comprehensive training and supportive team environment are provided.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to nurture and mentor candidates.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Familiarity with Army Careers would be an advantage.
  • Organised approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Good MS Office skills.

Your role as an Interviewer/Assessor is to guide and nurture candidates applying to the British Army through the assessment process in an unbiased, friendly and controlled environment.

As an Interviewer/Assessor You will be responsible for the implementation of both physical and psychometric assessment activities under strict test conditions. The application of a detailed marking guide to ensure candidates are graded in accordance with their ability.

This role will involve working a shift pattern of 37.5 hours per week over a 7-day period. This will include overnight chaperone and 'on call' duties once per week.

What you'll be doing:
  • Briefing and delivering all cognitive assessment activities under test conditions
  • Contributing to an un-biased test environment for all assessment activities
  • Assessing candidates against fixed criteria
  • Providing feedback on a candidate's performance at assessment, their assessment outcome and their next steps in the recruitment process
  • Conducting individual career discussions with candidates
  • Writing accurate reports to assist recruiters and Basic Training Instructors to understand the candidate's strengths and weaknesses
