Job summary

Estuary Academy North in Gravesend seeks an Intervention Mentor to support pupils with intervention needs and SEND. You will build positive relationships with students, communicate effectively, and work as part of a dedicated team to enable learning and well-being during term-time.

The role requires passion, resilience, and a collaborative attitude, with opportunities for professional development within a Trust that values wellbeing and pupil outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with Intervention Needs or SEND and a desire to broaden skills.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Relevant experience with secondary age students.
  • Passion and dedication to make a difference to children’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with SEND/Intervention Needs to access learning.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Contribute to pastoral care and safeguarding in collaboration with the team.
  • Promote inclusive teaching and learning across key stages.

Job description

  • Salary: NJC Point 3 = £25,614 Actual (£22,032 FTE)

Hours/Term Time/Full Time: 36 Hours per week - TTO

Location: Gravesend

Start Date: November 2026

We are looking for an Intervention Mentor who:

Has experience working with children with Intervention Needs or with other special educational needs and wishes to broaden their skill-set

Has the ability to develop positive relationships with students

Has strong communication Skills

Relevant experience working with secondary age students

Has passion and dedication to make a difference to children’s lives

Is an exceptional team-player

Has a can-do attitude, a resilient personality and flexible approach
