Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced attorney to join its International Data Legal team, advising on cross-border data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance for Meta's global services. You will partner with product, policy, engineering, and compliance to ensure data practices are lawful and strategically aligned.

The role involves leading engagements with data protection authorities across AMET, shaping internal governance, and guiding cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Must hold a law degree or equivalent and be licensed to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of experience in data protection, privacy, or technology law with international scope.
• Experience managing multi-jurisdictional matters and advising executive leadership.
• Active bar membership or equivalent qualification in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Ability to communicate legal risk clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative guidance on international data protection laws across AMET.
• Lead regulatory engagements with data protection authorities in AMET.
• Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies across AMET jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with policy, trust & safety, and compliance to align data positions with business goals.
• Shape internal frameworks, policies, and governance structures for data privacy.
• Communicate complex issues to executives, product teams, and regulators.
• Coach attorneys and legal staff on international data legal matters.
• Leverage AI-enabled workflows for research, monitoring, and cross-jurisdictional analysis.
