Job summary

Energas, part of the Air Liquide Group, is looking for an Internal Sales & Warehouse Operative in Scunthorpe. The role blends trade counter sales with hands-on warehouse duties, including stock checks and order fulfillment.

You will greet customers, take orders, and handle transactions while supporting stock control and yard operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience in customer-facing environments, and a practical approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, customer-facing retail, counter or branch environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prioritise and solve problems in a busy setting.
• Enthusiastic about delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work with computer systems and software.
• Forklift license is desirable; training provided.
• Knowledge of engineering and welding processes is advantageous; training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Trade Counter & Sales: greet customers, take sales orders, process payments securely.
• Customer Support & Relationship Building: address inquiries, resolve complaints, identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Administration & Compliance: raise credit notes, proforma invoices, log notes, end-of-day banking reconciliations.
• Stock & Inventory Control: assist with stock counts and audits to keep yard/warehouse organized.
• Picking & Packing: prepare, pick, and pack products for order fulfillment.
• Yard Operations: safely handle and transport gas cylinders and equipment on site.
