Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking an Electrical Sales Engineer in the Leeds area. The role focuses on maintaining client relationships, processing orders and delivering technical support, with about 80% of time office-based in Leeds.

You will assess customer needs, provide quotations and BOMs, and work with internal teams and suppliers to meet specifications. A technical qualification and driving licence are required; a second language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Confident engineer with excellent communication skills and a sales mindset.
• Hold a relevant technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical, Control systems, Automation or Mechanical.
• Must understand electrical fundamentals and have a full UK driving licence.
• Experience in sales or customer support is advantageous.
• Second language would be of great interest.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with existing customers daily regarding orders and issues.
• Provide technical support by phone, email and face-to-face when necessary.
• Build and manage relationships with distributors and end users.
• Upsell and cross-sell where possible.
• Research and cold call new and potential customers.
• Provide quotations, produce BOMs and purchase from suppliers.
• Coordinate with internal development teams and external manufacturers to meet client specs.

Electrical Sales Engineer

Leeds area

Technically qualified engineer required for an internal sales engineering role for a growing organisation in the Leeds area. Ideally you will have some relevant work or placement experience in and a second language would also be of great interest.

You will initially work with existing clients maintaining relationships, processing, and managing customer orders and providing technical support. Your role as a Sales Engineer will be 80% office based in Leeds and will include:

• Liaising with existing customers on a day-to-day basis regarding orders, post sales enquiries & issues
• Providing comprehensive technical support by phone, email and face to face when necessary
• Building up and managing excellent customer relationships with distributors and end users
• Up selling and cross selling where possible
• Researching and cold calling new and potential customers
• Providing quotations, producing BOM's and purchasing from existing suppliers
• Working with internal development teams and external manufacturers to ensure client specifications are met

You will be:

• A confident engineer with excellent communication skills happy to take on a sales role
• Hold a relevant technical qualification: Electronics, Electrical, Control systems, Automation or Mechanical (must understand electrical fundamentals)
• Have excellent communication and persuasive skills
• Have confident administration and organisational skills
• Be a good problem solver
• Ideally have worked in a sales or customer support role
• Hold a full UK driving licence

We are particularly keen to hear from people with:

• A second language
• Experience in ATEX environments, beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of materials handling or special purpose machinery
• Experience with sensors and instrumentation
