Job summary

Thorlabs Ltd in Ely is seeking a hands-on Material Handler to support end-to-end value stream operations. The role involves safe handling, stock replenishment, Kanban maintenance and use of ERP systems to track material flow.

You will operate forklifts and pallet trucks, follow time-bound work, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure accurate stock control and timely loading/unloading of goods.

Qualifications

• Hands-on approach in manufacturing.

Job description

Running various material and electronic flow operations within our end-to-end value stream to enable the production of finished goods. This is a varied role with many manual handling operations within a yard, light and heavy goods environment.

What we would like you to do/ to see…

• Work safely and follow all site HSE guidelines
• Carrying out multiple material flow processes to fulfil supermarkets, stock replenishment, Kanbans and waste processing.
• Operation of internal machinery in the production of materials to replenish supermarket stock.
• Using various material conveyancing methods such as Forklifts, motorised Pallet trucks and other manual methods.
• Follow electronic work flows to enable material flow, accurate stock control and Kanban maintenance.
• Operate the goods in process, which includes ERP & Kanban electronic processes.
• Loading/unloading various loads from vehicles.

• Using ERP and other electronic Workflows. These will use PC, mobile or scanner type equipment.
• Ability to work in a team environment and working on a task rotation basis.
