Job summary

Genus PLC is seeking a controls testing professional to strengthen internal controls and support confident decision-making. You will assess and test controls across financial and non-financial areas, turning evidence into conclusions and guiding remediation.

Based in the UK, you may visit Stapeley or Basingstoke; this fixed-term maternity cover lasts 12 months. Plan, test, document, and use GRC tools to track remediation progress with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting control testing and assessments in finance, risk, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and control design.
• Ability to give clear, practical feedback on findings and remediation.
• Experience reviewing others' work and performing peer reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk-based design and operating effectiveness testing.
• Form evidence-based conclusions and identify improvements.
• Provide practical feedback to control owners and stakeholders on findings.
• Support remediation action plans aligned with findings.
• Collaborate across the internal controls team to ensure timely delivery.
• Use GRC tools to document activity, conclusions and remediation progress.
• Contribute to continuous enhancement of the controls framework.
• Ensure tasks are delivered within scope, time, cost and quality.
