Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking a Communications Officer to ensure timely, high-quality content publication, manage all internal communications, and liaise with Functional Heads to deliver innovative solutions.

You will work in the Business Hub with the Head of Business Assurance, coordinating intranet publishing, newsletters, design basics, multimedia projects, and adherence to online guidelines across the establishment.

Responsibilities

• Publishes intranet and internal message boards, ensuring timely delivery.
• Uploads content to the intranet as part of the Business Hub.
• Maintains quality of links, images, and metadata through monitoring and fixes.
• Ensures all content aligns with online guidelines and standards.
• Develops working knowledge of online content management systems used in HMPPS.
• Collates and distributes messages from the Senior Management Team.
• Supports creation of standard newsletters (e.g., NPS and CRC News) including writing and proofreading.
• Provides basic design, typesetting, and proofing services for the team.
• Supports production of communications materials and multimedia projects.
• Adheres to government guidelines and monitors external sites for coverage.
• Keeps up-to-date with emerging trends and maintains professional knowledge.
