Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit team. You will deliver a portfolio of audits from inception to completion, identifying risks, designing testing plans, and communicating findings to stakeholders.

You will work with data analytics and AI-enabled tools to support audit work and deliver high-quality assurance. The role requires strong analytical and reporting skills, the ability to manage multiple audits concurrently, and effective

Qualifications

• CIA/CMIIA or part-qualified with >50% progress is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of risk-based internal auditing principles and practices.
• Ability to manage multiple audits concurrently within scope, time and budget.
• Strong analytical skills to apply diverse thinking and deliver practical solutions.
• Excellent written reporting with clear actions and recommendations.
• Confident in communicating and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly organized, proactive with sound time and resource management.
• Collaborative team player who contributes to the audit function.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an agreed suite of internal audits from the annual plan.
• Identify risks, design testing plans and ensure timely completion.
• Communicate findings through exit meetings and formal reports.
• Work with data analytics and AI-assisted tools to enhance assurance.
