Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking an Internal Auditor to deliver a diverse portfolio of audits from planning through to completion. You will assess risks, design testing plans, and report findings with clear action plans.

With support from an Audit Manager, you will conduct audits across the organisation, travel to base offices and other sites as required, and contribute to continuous improvement of governance, risk and control. A relevant professional qualification is expected.

Qualifications

• Highly desirable: CIA, CMIIA, CCAB or equivalent.
• Knowledge and practical experience of risk-based internal auditing.
• Proven ability to manage and deliver a portfolio of audits concurrently, meeting quality and budget expectations.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to develop practical, value-adding solutions.
• Excellent written skills, translating findings into clear, concise reports with action plans.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly organised, able to manage time and resources effectively, pro-actively identifying issues.
• Collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a suite of internal audits from the annual plan, from inception to completion.
• Identify risks in terms of reference agreed with stakeholders; design and deliver testing plans.
• Clearly communicate findings through exit meetings and formal reports.
