Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountants in Birmingham is seeking an ambitious Internal Audit professional to join our expanding West Midlands team. The role offers progression from Assistant Manager to Manager with strong leadership development.

You will lead audits across public sector and corporate clients, mentor staff, manage budgets, and contribute to business development while staying client-focused in a collaborative environment. Flexible working options available.

Qualifications

• CIA/ACA qualification (or equivalent) required.
• Experience managing a broad audit portfolio across public sector, not-for-profit and corporate.
• Proven people management and mentoring ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Experience at Manager level or Assistant Manager seeking promotion.

Responsibilities

• Leading, planning and delivering a broad range of public sector and corporate internal audit engagements, reporting directly to our local Internal Audit Director.
• Helping to develop our internal audit team, including coaching and mentoring staff and recruitment to expand the team.
• Monitoring budgets and agreeing fees for each assignment.
• Managing client relationships and ensuring a quality service is delivered.
• Contributing to business development activities in the sectors in which you operate.
