Job summary

PRO-TAX RECRUITMENT LIMITED is seeking an Internal Audit Manager / Assistant Manager in Birmingham. The role will lead internal audit assignments across public sector, not-for-profit and corporate clients, planning and delivering audits, and mentoring junior staff.

Hybrid working is offered and travel to client sites is expected. The ideal candidate holds CIA/ACA or equivalent, with internal audit experience and strong knowledge of risk and governance, plus the ability to build client

Qualifications

• CIA, ACA or equivalent qualification.
• Previous Internal Audit experience.
• Experience managing a portfolio across public sector, not-for-profit and corporate sectors.
• Strong knowledge of risk, controls and governance.
• Manager level experience or ambition to progress to Manager.
• Genuine interest in coaching and developing others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with client relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and structured approach to multiple assignments.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.
• Collaborative and commercially minded to grow the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a broad range of Internal Audit engagements from planning to delivery.
• Work closely with Internal Audit Director and ensure successful delivery of assignments.
• Manage client relationships and ensure high-quality service.
• Advise clients on risk, controls, governance and best practice.
• Monitor budgets and fees for assignments.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.
• Support recruitment and development of the Internal Audit team.
• Contribute to business development and identify new opportunities.
