Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join a growing, independent building services consultancy based in Leicester. With three established offices, the business has ambitious growth plans and is looking to strengthen its team with an additional Mechanical Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with around 3-5 years' experience who is looking to take the next step in their career, gain greater project responsibility and develop within a business that genuinely invests in its people. Unlike larger corporate consultancies, this business offers a more personal working environment, direct access to senior leadership and a clear pathway for career progression, with opportunities to progress towards Senior, Associate and ultimately Director level.
Working alongside an established team of engineers, you will be involved in delivering a varied portfolio of building services projects across multiple sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
The project portfolio includes education, residential, Ministry of Justice, prison and refurbishment schemes, providing exposure to a diverse range of technically interesting projects.
A background in mechanical building services design. Experience producing mechanical designs and calculations. Good knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and domestic water services. Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations. Competent with relevant design software. Strong communication and organisational skills. A proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibility. Someone ambitious who is keen to develop their technical skills and progress their career. Candidates with more experience will also be considered.
This is where the opportunity really stands out.
If you're a Mechanical Engineer who feels you've reached a ceiling in your current position, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. You'll be joining a growing consultancy where your contribution is recognised, your development is encouraged and progression is genuinely achievable. Rather than being another number in a large organisation, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference, take ownership of projects and help shape the future of the business.
