Job summary

Morgan Law is seeking an Interim People Advisor for a further education organisation in South-West London for 6 months. The role is full-time and based on-site five days a week, with potential flexibility to one remote day.

Reporting to a people partner, you will support employee relations, performance management, absence management and staff queries, ensuring fair HR practices and compliance with employment law.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in HR or employee relations roles
• Experience handling large volumes of employee relations cases
• Strong HR knowledge including ER, discipline/grievance, performance and absence management
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR and equality/diversity laws
• Understanding importance of Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding in education

Responsibilities

• Support the People Partner on employee relations initiatives
• Provide guidance on HR matters including performance management and absence management
• Assist in resolving staff queries and concerns with managers for fair HR practices
• Support the Assistant Director in managing employee relations cases
• Be the first point of contact for staff on People-related queries with advice per employment law

Job description

I am urgently seeking an experienced Interim People Advisor for a further education organisation based in South-West London for a period of 6 months. The role will pay a salary in the range of £38,703 to £40,194 per year depending upon experience. This is a full-time role which will be based on-site 5 days per potentially with some flexibility later for 1 day working remote.

Reporting to a people partner, your role will involve:-

• Supporting the People Partner on a number of areas but with a focus on Employee Relations
• Provide guidance on People matters including performance management, absence management, and employee relations
• Assist in resolving staff queries and concerns, working with managers to ensure fair and consistent HR practices
• Support the Assistant Director in managing employee relations cases, ensuring issues are handled in line with their standards
• Serve as the first point of contact for People-related queries from staff, offering advice in line with employment law and HR best practices
• Assist in identifying training needs and support in coordinating learning and development activities for staff

Essential knowledge, skills and experience include: –

• At least 2 years’ experience in a human resources or employee relations role at a similar level
• Experience in managing large volumes of employee relations cases
• Strong understanding of HR practices, including employee relations, discipline and grievance, performance management, and absence management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills, and ability to prioritise workload effectively
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including safeguarding, GDPR, and equality and diversity laws
• Understanding of the importance of Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding in education
