Axon Moore Group Ltd in Sheffield is seeking an experienced HR Manager for an initial 3-month contract. This hands-on, generalist HR role focuses on Employee Relations and day-to-day HR support across the business.

Reporting to the HR Director, you will manage ER caseloads, advise managers on policies and employment legislation, and help drive HR projects while maintaining accurate records. Immediate start and on-site 3 days per week.

HR Manager - 3 Month Contract

Working pattern: 3 days per week on site

An established engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join the team on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a hands‑on, generalist HR role with a strong focus on Employee Relations. You will provide day‑to‑day HR support across the business, working closely with managers and employees and providing practical advice across a broad range of people matters.

The Role

Reporting directly to the HR Director, you will take responsibility for a range of generalist HR activities, with particular emphasis on Employee Relations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied Employee Relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
• Providing practical and commercially focused HR advice to managers
• Supporting managers through the full employee lifecycle
• Advising on policies, procedures and employment legislation
• Supporting absence management and employee wellbeing
• Coaching and supporting line managers on HR and ER matters
• Assisting with HR projects and wider people initiatives as required
• Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring processes are followed consistently

About You

• Strong generalist HR experience
• Proven Employee Relations experience
• Confidence managing complex and sensitive HR cases
• Experience working with and advising line managers
• Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
• A practical, hands‑on approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
• Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing or another operational environment would be advantageous

This would suit an experienced HR Manager who is immediately available and comfortable stepping into a hands‑on role for an initial 3-month period.

The role is Sheffield-based with 3 days per week on site and an immediate start.
