Job summary

Axon Moore is recruiting an experienced HR Manager for an established engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield for an initial 3‑month contract. The role is hands-on and generalist with a strong focus on Employee Relations, reporting to the HR Director and supporting managers across the business.

The successful candidate will manage ER caseloads, provide practical HR guidance, assist with employee lifecycle processes, and ensure compliance with UK employment law.

Qualifications

• Strong generalist HR experience.
• Proven Employee Relations experience.
• Confident handling complex and sensitive HR cases.
• Experience advising line managers.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Hands-on, practical approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Able to work independently and prioritise.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied Employee Relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
• Providing practical and commercially focused HR advice to managers
• Supporting managers through the full employee lifecycle
• Advising on policies, procedures and employment legislation
• Supporting absence management and employee wellbeing
• Coaching and supporting line managers on HR and ER matters
• Assisting with HR projects and wider people initiatives as required
• Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring processes are followed consistently
