Job summary

Orbit Group is seeking a senior regulatory professional to lead the Home Repairs Regulatory Team, ensuring timely triage and resolution of Awaab's Law, HHSRS and disrepair cases. The role provides operational leadership, directs case handling, and maintains safety-focused oversight of workloads and escalations.

Qualifications

• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification in housing, disrepair or landlord and tenant matters.
• Experience leading or coordinating teams in repairs, property compliance, regulatory casework or social housing.
• Practical knowledge of Awaab's Law, HHSRS, damp and mould, disrepair, statutory repairs and landlord safety duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Home Repairs Regulatory Team, ensuring Awaab's Law, HHSRS, disrepair and related regulatory cases are triaged, allocated, progressed and resolved in line with statutory duties and customer safety requirements.
• Provide second-line assurance for hazards across property departments, reviewing case handling, evidence, communications, actions, risk management and closure decisions.
• Maintain oversight of live casework, high-risk matters, overdue actions and emerging themes, identify blockers, challenge delays and elevate risks as needed.
• Oversee coordination of repairs, inspections, contractor actions, interim safety measures, decant arrangements and remedial works to keep customers safe.
• Undertake quality assurance checks on case records, communications, contractor instructions and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate engagement with Local Authorities and Environmental Health on statutory notices and enforcement activity.
