Job summary

Mackie Myers client is scaling its finance function and seeks a Group Financial Controller for a 3-month engagement in London. You will lead group consolidation, manage cash flows, and strengthen controls across the finance function while supporting budgeting, ERP projects and growth initiatives.

The role requires professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), 7+ years post-qualification experience, and proven team leadership in a multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction setting.

Qualifications

• Degree educated and professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 7+ years post-qualified experience.
• Proven team management experience.
• Strong consolidation, statutory reporting and technical accounting expertise.
• Multi-currency and multi-jurisdiction experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience improving processes, controls and financial systems.
• Strong accounting systems knowledge, ideally Xero.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Google Workspace skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and lead group consolidation for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Maintain strong financial controls across assets, liabilities, income and expenditure.
• Manage cash flow, bank accounts and payment processes, ensuring timely supplier, payroll and contractor payments.
• Supervise and develop finance team members.
• Strengthen internal controls through process and policy improvements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Lead year-end audits and statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors and advisors.
• Develop and maintain the group's transfer pricing policy and documentation.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors and consultants.
• Oversee employee share scheme administration.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business growth initiatives.
• Lead ERP implementation, data migration and process design.
• Support ad hoc projects within a scaling business.
