Job summary

Harrison Scott Associates is recruiting a Finance Manager for a hands-on, three-month contract to take ownership of the finance function within a dynamic SME environment. You will oversee day-to-day finance, month-end reporting, cash management and statutory compliance, reporting to senior management.

The role requires strong management accounting, financial reporting and controls, with experience in budgets, forecasts, VAT, payroll oversight and ERP systems. ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE considered.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a finance function in an SME
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and controls
• Experience producing budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting
• Payroll oversight experience
• ERP/accounting systems experience (SAP advantageous)
• Excellent Excel skills
• Ability to work to multiple deadlines in a busy environment
• Professional accounting qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE considered)

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance function including ledgers and cash management
• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage month-end close and year-end close processes
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial planning reports
• Ensure VAT compliance and HMRC submissions
• Support payroll processes and pension administration
• Maintain financial controls and policy compliance
• Provide financial insight through KPI reporting and analysis
• Liaise with auditors and external accountants as required
