Are you an experienced Financial Controller looking to step into a senior role with potential to become a Finance Director within 2-3 years?

This position is with a small accounting and business support firm, offering accountancy and back-office services to a global client base in financial services.

In this role, you'll work closely with the FD, deputise in their absence, and take full accountability for the UK office while the FD is overseas.

Located in pleasant offices in Ampthill, Bedfordshire (with onsite parking), easily accessible from Bedford, Milton Keynes, and Luton. It’s also about an hour by train from London for those looking to escape the city.

Leading a small team of accountants, your responsibilities will include:

• Producing monthly management accounts
• Managing budgets and forecasts
• Overseeing treasury and cash management
• Preparing global reporting packs
• Handling VAT, PAYE, and Corporation tax

You will also oversee functions like accounts payable, credit control, annual audits, finance system upgrades, and process reviews.

The basic salary is up to £80,000, commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits including an annual bonus, life cover (4x salary), and private medical insurance for your family.

This is a senior-level role involving strategic advising, investment assessments, company setup, and system implementations.

Ideal candidates are Qualified Accountants with at least 5 years PQE, holding ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with IFRS 17 experience and familiarity with SAGE accounting software.
