Ivy Rock Partners Limited is working exclusively with an education organisation to appoint an experienced Interim Credit Controller to support its finance team with the recovery of outstanding income.

This hands-on assignment is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of aged debt and make an immediate impact on cash collection. There is an option to operate with condensed hours if preferred.

Competenze

• Hands-on credit control or accounts receivable experience.
• Experience with Local Authorities or public-sector debtors.
• Confident in making calls to chase payments.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
• Experience with Xero is advantageous.

Ivy Rock Partners is working exclusively with an education organisation looking to appoint an experienced Interim Credit Controller to support its finance team with the recovery of outstanding income.

There is an option to do this role in condensed hours if preferred.

This is a hands-on assignment, ideally suited to someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of aged debt and make an immediate impact on cash collection.

The organisation is looking for someone with strong credit control experience, ideally within education or a similar public-sector environment, who is confident liaising with Local Authorities to resolve outstanding payments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of outstanding debt, proactively chasing overdue payments and resolving long-standing balances.
• Liaise directly with Local Authorities to investigate outstanding invoices, identify appropriate contacts and resolve payment delays.
• Review and reconcile aged debt, ensuring accurate records and clear visibility of expected collections.
• Establish effective debt tracking, reporting and escalation processes.
• Identify practical improvements to existing credit control procedures.
• Work alongside an existing finance team member, providing guidance and training to ensure processes can be maintained after the assignment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Strong hands-on credit control or accounts receivable experience, with a proven track record of recovering outstanding debt.
• Experience dealing with Local Authorities or public-sector debtors, ideally within education, SEND or specialist provision.
• Confident communicator who is comfortable picking up the phone, chasing payments and resolving complex queries.
• Proactive, organised and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience using Xero would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service would be beneficial to facilitate a quick start.
