Job summary

Chase and Holland is seeking an Interim Assistant Management Accountant in Grimsby, offering up to £35,000. The role involves month-end accounts, financial reporting and VAT, with exposure to finance systems and process improvements.

The position provides a platform to develop towards broader management accounting responsibilities within a busy, specialist business across the UK. The interim contract supports year-end activities and ERP implementation.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, with exposure to management accounts.
• Solid knowledge of VAT, reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis capability.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and problem solving.
• AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent studies, finance systems/process improvements desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and month-end adjustments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support cash flow forecasting and wider financial analysis.
• Produce management information to support decision making.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure accuracy/compliance.
• Assist with year-end activities and ERP system implementation.
• Develop and maintain finance procedures and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.
