Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team in Grimsby on a permanent, full-time basis. The role offers hybrid working with one day per week at home and exposure to monthly management accounts and year-end processes.

You will analyse income and expenditure, support budget holders, prepare journals and reconciliations, and contribute to forecasting and external audit requirements, providing clear financial insight to stakeholders.

Management Accountant

A well-established organisation is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based in Grimsby, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement with one day per week working from home.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of their workload and providing accurate financial insight to support decision-making.

Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in delivering monthly management accounts, supporting budget holders, and contributing to the organisation's budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes. You will also support the external audit process and help ensure financial information is accurate, timely and compliant.

What you will be doing

• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
• Analyse income and expenditure, identifying and explaining financial variances.
• Support budget holders with financial information, advice and resolving queries.
• Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including financial analysis and reporting.
• Assist with year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Provide financial insight and support to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Skills and experience

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong management accounting and financial control experience.
• Confident analysing financial data and explaining variances to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, organised and able to work independently using your own initiative.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience.

Salary: £55,000 per annum
