Job summary

Chase & Holland are partnering with a well-established Hull manufacturer to recruit an Interim Assistant Accountant for a minimum 4-month period. You will support the finance team with day-to-day transactional finance up to trial balance, reporting to the Finance Manager in a busy manufacturing environment.

The role offers a competitive salary, 23 days holidays + bank holidays, pension, free onsite parking and a Friday early finish.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a varied accounts role and able to prepare accounts up to trial balance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong IT skills including Excel and being highly computer literate.
• Team player who can work in a close-knit team.
• Strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Raising and processing daily sales invoices with correct pricing.
• Processing credit notes and debit notes; purchase ledger.
• Checking, reconciling and processing supplier payments.
• Credit control and bank reconciliations.
• Monthly reporting of Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger.
• Assisting with payroll and managing expense claims.
• Prepare accounts up to trial balance and post journals (prepayments and accruals).
• Audit support.

Interim Assistant Accountant - Hull – Competitive Salary

Chase & Holland are working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business in Hull, who are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team during a period of transition for a minimum of 4 months, until at least the end of January 2027. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager this role will play an integral part in supporting the business with day-to-day transactional finance up to trial balance.

Assistant Accountant key responsibilities:

• Raising and processing daily sales invoices, ensuring correct pricing
• Processing of credit notes and debit notes
• Purchase Ledger
• Checking, reconciling and processing supplier payments
• Credit Control
• Bank reconciliation
• Monthly reporting of Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger
• Assisting with payroll
• Managing employee expense claims
• Prepare accounts up to trial balance
• Prepare and post journals including prepayments and accruals
• Audit support

Requirements:

• Experience working in a similar varied accounts role, including preparing accounts to TB
• Excellent communication skill both written and verbal
