Job summary

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing people within busy operational service environments.
• Experience leading a 24/7, shift-based, time-critical operation.
• Proven track record of motivating, developing and managing teams.
• Experience coaching and supporting other managers.
• Experience managing service delivery against KPIs, SLAs or defined standards.
• Practical understanding of health and safety, operational risk and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership across operational teams and shifts.
• Strengthen people management, performance management and management consistency.
• Establishing clear expectations, accountability and effective management routines.
• Managing performance, conduct, attendance and capability issues in partnership with HR.
• Reviewing workforce deployment, shift arrangements and management cover.
• Improving communication and handovers across the 24/7 operation.
• Monitoring performance against KPIs, SLAs and service standards.
• Identifying and managing operational risks, incidents and service issues.
• Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, safeguarding and service resilience.
• Working collaboratively with technical specialists and internal stakeholders.
• Identifying and embedding practical improvements to service quality, efficiency and customer outcomes.
• The objective is to leave behind stronger management practices, improved operational effectiveness and a clear plan for longer-term improvement.
