Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking an experienced manager for the Intensive Family Support team in Sheffield. The role focuses on providing intensive support during crises to protect children and strengthen families, working alongside fieldwork and Risk outside the home services.

The post emphasizes supervision, safeguarding, and inter‑agency collaboration to improve outcomes for children and families, with flexible working options and a strong commitment to equality and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience in intensive family support and safeguarding.
• Proven ability to supervise teams and manage complex cases.
• Knowledge of evidence‑based working models (e.g., Signs of Safety).
• Ability to develop strong links with partner agencies across Health, Education and Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of Early Help Practice Leads and team members.
• Conduct case and joint supervision with other teams.
• Manage referrals from Area and ROTH teams (Risk outside the home).
• Set targets with Intensive Family Support leads for each caseload.
• Develop links with fieldwork teams, Risk outside the home service, Health and Education.
• Apply models like Signs of Safety to practice.
• Provide cover for another Team Manager when needed.
• Attend meetings and contribute to service development.
