Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking four Senior Family Support Workers for the Intensive Support Team. Based in the East of the region, the roles involve delivering intensive support to families where children are at risk of care proceedings or placement disruptions.

The post requires flexibility, including mornings, evenings and weekends. A good knowledge of child protection laws, PVG membership and a current driving licence are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proactive team player who can work flexibly.
• Ability to collaborate across services and agencies.
• Current driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive support to children and families in homes, foster, kinship and residential placements.
• Deliver planned interventions to prevent out-of-area placements or breakdowns.
• Work with partner agencies and contribute to team developments.
• Attend training and supervision to maintain service standards.
