Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police is seeking an Intelligence Assessor within Counter Terrorism Policing South West (CTPSW). The role coordinates information from internal and external agencies, develops intelligence, and supports investigations.

Base location is Kenneth Steele House, Bristol, with travel to other estates as required. The post includes access to sensitive material and National Security Vetting processes, with both full-time and part-time options negotiated.

Qualifications

• Must be computer literate.
• Experience of developing intelligence.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience of report writing.
• Knowledge of intelligence databases.
• IPP certificated or willing to complete IPP in the role.
• MV & SC vetting initially with the expectation to undergo DV vetting once in post.
• National Security Vetting (NSV) clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate collection and receipt of information from within the force, other forces and external agencies; input and disseminate data onto databases for threat and risk.
• Assess all information and intelligence, including sensitive data, to identify threat and risk levels and determine handling/dissemination.
• Quality assure intelligence to meet quality standards including sanitisation, grading and GPMS markings.
• Provide input for tactical and strategic documents.
• Attend conferences, seminars and courses to add value to investigations and regional capacity.
