Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police is seeking a Counter Terrorism Security Adviser to provide expert protective security guidance for crowded places, hazardous sites and other vulnerable locations across the South West region.

The role requires strong communication, report writing and the ability to deliver training and presentations. You must be willing to travel, hold a valid driving licence, and be prepared for strict vetting requirements, including NSV/DV where applicable.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with evidence.
• Good computer literacy and report writing by deadline.
• Experience of providing protective security advice or similar discipline.
• Strong high-level problem solving experience.
• Experience negotiating and influencing in a partnership environment.
• Ability to devise and deliver presentations and training.
• Full current driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Act as focal point for CT protective security advice internally and externally.
• Deliver protective security advice to crowded places, hazardous sites and vulnerable locations.
• Present findings to customers on security standards and resilience.
• Support NPSA in protection of critical sites and response.
• Promote awareness of terrorist threats and resolve security concerns through problem solving.
